Dear Prospective Disciple

I believe that it is through a divine plan that you have surfed your way to the Dayspring website. May this message find you in grace and peace through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am Rev. Jeffrey K. Rumlin, pastor of the Dayspring Baptist Church. I would like to invite you to worship God with the Dayspring family on Sunday’s at 10:00 am. We are a church that is committed to the cause of Christ, being led by the Holy Spirit. We believe in spirit-filled worship and Christian ministry.

Make no mistake about it; everyone in the world has at least one craving. When I use the word craving, I am speaking of an intense desire for something. As Christians, our craving should be to seek and do the will of God. If you say that Jesus Christ is your personal Lord and Savior, then there should be a desire to do his will. Many times people want to ask what is the will of God for my life. We want to focus extensively on the individual aspect of life, but if you study the teachings of Jesus closely, you will discover that there is an individual and communal component to his message. This is why the disciples of Christ must engage in ministry and why the Dayspring Church is a ministry-driven church.

Here at the Dayspring Church, we open ourselves and remain free to allow the Holy Spirit to use us during the worship celebration. I agree totally with Dr. James Abbington in his book “Let Mt. Zion Rejoice” when he says, “In the African American church the phrase ‘having church’ refers to a spirit-filled, God-present, anointed outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The genius of black worship is its openness to the creative power of God that frees and enables people to celebrate God’s act in Jesus Christ.”

Throughout this website you will find basic information on this ministry and the Christian faith. It is my hope that you will become an active disciple of this fellowship. I would forward to meeting with you as we all continue to walk with God.

A Servant of Christ;

Rev. Jeffrey K. Rumlin, Pastor
